Krishna does not exemplify a perfect Yogi (he is a womanizer, frequently intoxicated, breaks his promises, etc.), but though he has manifested Vishnu this does not mean he is capable of perfection. Krishna's biography is filled with moments of growth, in which he becomes a better man - this expresses the Vedas, so that others might learn from his mistakes and exceed him in practice. The story of Krishna is only part of the story of Vishnu, and though Krishna interacts with most of the other manifestations of Vishnu in the course of his life (the several manifestations of Vishnu can be manifested by many Yogis simultaneously: as numerous yogis might undertake the same sacrifice, or Asana, or Puja, or any other ritualized behavior), there is only one manifestation of Vishnu which interacts with all manifestations: only Kamadev is able to understand and therefore interact with the others, as the manifestation of Kamadev requires mastery of the other manifestations. This is because Kama is the elemental component of Artha, and therefore Dharma - and Vishnu, as Time, is Dharma as well (Time and Dharma are the same).
