We have become weak, and therefore require religion - and such occultism and mysticism, and other creepy things have nearly destroyed us. What is lacked is merely courage, so believe in yourself - as you would believe in a god. Steel yourself against the challenge before you! You have wept long enough. Stand on your feet - and be men and women! Accomplish the promise of your humanity! Anything that makes you weak - physically, intellectually, spiritually - reject as poison. There is no life in it, it cannot be true. Truth is strengthening. Go back to the Upanishads and part from all mysteries, all weakening things. The greatest truths are the simplest things in the world, simple as your own existence. The truth of the upanishads are before you! Take them up, live up to them!
Strength - strength is what the Upanishads speak, from every page. Strength, it says, strength! Do not be weak! Stand up and be strong! Be courageous, until you are utterly fearless! Seek your freedom - physical freedom, mental freedom, spiritual freedom! These are the watchwords of the Upanishads.
All religions, all systems of ethics, teach "refrain from doing evil." But why does a human steal, rob, or undertake other evil actions? Upon psychological reasons, for material need, for any reason except ethical confusion. We should therefore look upon every person in the most charitable light. it is not possible to be good. Are we machines, so easily programmed? Is there pride in goodness? Should those who are more good be more proud? Certainly not. You are good because you have not had to be bad. If you were in another's position, who knows what you would have done? Think! Think of that. Think and question in your mind. Then you will understand truth - the bare, brave truth. You will understand the world has no savior, that you have no savior, except yourself. You will understand the causes of things, and the necessity for human strength and human power.
