Directed thought techniques

Just as a person can, with training, become aware of distress in their body and adapt their diet, breathing and posture to alleviate that distress, a person can also become aware of distress in their mind - and direct their thoughts, feelings and consciousness toward alleviating that distress. The techniques of directing thought are learned in a similar manner to those techniques of posturing, or Asanas, utilized in Hatha Yoga - as these exercises are in fact mental Asanas. However, the basis of the training is equally in Hatha and Jnana Yoga.
